Love Dana's podcast. She's doing great things to help little farms like ours be seen, but it also gives me an opportunity to learn some new things from other operations that she interviews. The world of agriculture is small but equally big and diverse, knowledge is everything!
Guest Sharon McMahon is one of the most respected and influential people around and she's on the pod sharing insights about the intersection of farmers and our government. SOOO interesting! I have now binged a bunch of episodes from small farmers to Temple Grandin (another Wow!) and I have put this pod at the top of my list. Who's next? Can't wait!
There’s no better place to examine what’s behind healthy food and environmental concerns than digging into real conversations with the people who drive those equations. This podcast is fresh and honest with conversations that linger in your mind long after you’ve listened. I highly recommend it.
I had no idea you had a podcast in addition to running the For Farmers Movement and all that you do to support farmers. I have already listened to several episodes today... they're fabulous!!! Thank you for all you do!
This is what I love most about this podcast -- it's not all superstars. I think it's so important to hear from powerhouse farmers and "influentials" and also from first-timers who are out there hustling. What a resource to really get a chance to understand the farms that are out there working hard to provide us all with food... on so many different scales and in so many different ways. Super informative and enlightening.
I know it's about farming and features farmers, but I learn so much about life and perseverance by listening. I love the explanations the host gives to help get through some of the more complicated topics, too. I catch every episode. Keep them coming!
I love tuning in to Dana's podcast. I learn so much from her and the guests she brings on to talk with her. Getting to hear from big names in farming and every day farmers that are trying to make a difference in the world is just so inspiring. Thank you for the education you share!
I just love this podcast so much! Each episode has its own unique story and theme and there’s always a little nugget I can take away from the episodes and move forward in our farming career with or share with another friend (eater or farmer).
My favorite episode so far is “Will they be the generation who loses the family farm?” It spoke SO deeply to me and our current situation. Very relatable & lots of wisdom.
I also love how Dana throws in little explanations, to help the audience better understand the farm lingo and terminology that might be confusing in other conversations. Such a kind and thoughtful gesture!
Treasure trove of info in this episode. Provides behind the scenes insight into both the economics of running a farm ( and LOVED the farm girl cutouts explaining various terms and expressions-TY!) and to all of the big and little things that have to fall into place for farms to function. Thank you Carrie and @xoxofarmgirl
Talk Farm to Me features a lot of interesting farmers, but more than that it gets at the heart of what’s happening with our food, the people who grow it and issues farmers face that we can all relate to. The more I listen, the more I love this podcast.
Best podcast ever! A genuinely fascinating series allowing listeners a glimpse into what farm life is really like. From bison to trout to lamb, farm girl covers it all. This podcast is well done and worthwhile!!
Very informative, entertaining and educational time spent comfortably, easily and simply from my living room or while driving in the car.
It's been a life saver during these strange times.
Enjoy!
Gosh. What an interesting, informative podcast.
If you have a dim view of dairy farming, I highly recommend listening to this series. It will open your eyes, even squeeze a tear or two out of them and perhaps make us all a little less judgmental of an industry we just don’t understand.
Dana teases information out of taciturn farmers and garrulous professors to produce a stunning series of podcasts.
Loved the episode on dirty girl farm. I have a home in Andes but have never met the farmers behind the famous fridge. Exciting to hear their plans for the future! Thanks!
This is a much needed and entirely welcome addition to the world of podcasting! In each 20 minute episode, Farm Girl has managed to pack in a surprising amount of information, depth and character about the world of farming. I can’t wait for the next installment.
I am so inspired by your podcasts and really have enjoyed listening to your first two episodes. Bringing awareness not only to the kind of food we eat but where it comes from, how it’s produced and learning about who works so hard to get it to our tables is all so enlightening. Thank you for tuning me in!
I cannot wait for the next episode/guest! Super well done, engaging, thought-provoking and important stuff! I am not a farmer but I like to eat...and learn. I try to be careful and thoughtful about my food and where it comes from. I appreicate this window into the people who bring us our food. Feeling grateful for those who have the calling and dedication to farm. Also grateful for Farm Girl who had the great idea to talk to these folks and bring it all "into our living rooms." Love it!
I’ve always wanted to be a farmer. I like to be outside, wear many hats and interact with people and animals.
This podcast is outstanding. Bringing the farm to me gets the imaginary farmer in me working.
My wife and I listened to this podcast. We learned a ton but also had an awesome time listening. Everyone should listen to the story, and we are excited for many more in the future.
Straight talk about farming, family farms and food that’s thoughtful, well presented and provides well let’s just say—plenty of “food for thought.” Farm Girl is taking us where old meets new and sparks our conscience and feeds our imagination and curiosity about farming with facts, insight and personal accounts. The Farm to Table movement is real and relevant to our daily lives and Farm Girl shows us how.
We need to reconnect with where our food comes from and who’s producing it. What better way than hearing their personal stories? I look forward to hearing more!
